A note to the reader: There are two very important points to keep in mind before you read this transcript: Firstly, as is the way of God, He, at times, addresses Himself in the third person. For example, “HE” and “HIMSELF” are used in reference to Allah in the Quran. This is a way of showing His Greatness and Authority over all.
Secondly, the answers to these questions are the very words of God. Nothing has been altered. The simplicity of the answers is only due to the way God has provided insight in the Holy Quran.
What is Your name?
Verily, I am Allah; there is no God beside Me. (Ch.20: V.15)
Do You have other names or an alias?
To Allah [alone] belong [all] perfect attributes. So call on Him by these. (Ch.7: V.181)
Blessed is the name of thy Lord, Master of Glory and Honour. (Ch.55: V.79)
How old are You?
He is the First and the Last. (Ch.57: V.4)
Why can we not see You? We have heard so much about You and Your attributes. Surely, we should be able to see You with our physical eyes.
Eyes cannot reach Him but He reaches the eyes. And He is the Incomprehensible, the All-Aware. (Ch.6: V.104)
So, if we cannot see You can we at least hear You?
And it is not for a man that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil or by sending a messenger to reveal by His command what He pleases. Surely, He is High, Wise. (Ch.42: V.52)
And if we need to speak to You, how do we do that?
Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer. (Ch.40: V.61)
Right. Tell us more about Yourself. Please tell us where You live?
[He is] the Gracious [God Who] has settled Himself on the Throne. (Ch.20: V.6)
A throne? Where is this throne? Is this where You live?
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. (Ch.24: V.36)
This may be confusing to the reader. How can You be on the throne and in these other places?
Every day He [reveals Himself] in a different state. (Ch.55: V.30)
How do we reach You?
And when My servants ask thee about Me, say: ‘I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. (Ch.2: V.187)
What if we still cannot find You?
And [as for] those who strive in Our path – We will surely guide them in Our ways. And verily, Allah is with those who do good. (Ch.29: V.70)
Tell us about Your family? Who are Your parents? Do You have a spouse? Do You have children?
He begets not, nor is He begotten. (Ch.112: V.4)
He has taken neither wife nor son unto Himself. (Ch.72: V.4)
What is Your job? Or Your daily routine?
To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah has power over all things. (Ch.3: V.190)
He regulates all affairs (Ch.13: V.3)
All affairs mean everything! How do You do all this? Do You not tire? When do You find time to rest?
Slumber seizes Him not, nor sleep […] His knowledge extends over the heavens and the earth; and the care of them burdens Him not. (Ch.2: V.256)
What have You done for us, Your creation?
It is Allah Who has made the night for you that you may rest therein, and the day to [enable you] to see. (Ch.40: V.62)
Allah it is Who has made for you the earth a resting-place, and the heaven a canopy, and has given you shape and made your shapes perfect, and has provided you with good things. (Ch.40: V.65)
Allah is He Who created the heavens and the earth and caused water to come down from the clouds, and brought forth therewith fruits for your sustenance; and He has subjected to you the ships that they may sail through the sea by His command, and the rivers [too] has He subjected to you. (Ch.14: V.33)
Have We not made the earth a bed,
And the mountains as pegs?
And We have created you in pairs,
And We have made your sleep for rest,
And We have made the night as a covering,
And We have made the day for the activities of life.
And We have built over you seven strong [heavens];
And We have made the [sun] a bright lamp.
And We send down from the dripping clouds water pouring forth abundantly,
That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation, (Ch.78: V.7-16)
What else have You done for us?
And He gave you all that you wanted of Him; and if you try to count the favours of Allah, you will not be able to number them. Verily, man is very unjust, very ungrateful. (Ch.14: V.35)
Is there anything You ask in return for all this?
And I have not created the Jinn and the men but that they may worship Me.
I desire no sustenance from them, nor do I desire that they should feed Me. (Ch.51: V.57-58)
Unfortunately, there are many people that do not believe in You. They completely deny Your existence. One of the reasons they give is that if God existed there would be no suffering. What should we tell such people?
And We will try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives, and fruits;
but give glad tidings to the patient,
Who, when a misfortune overtakes them,
say, ‘Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return.’
It is these on whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy, and it is these who are rightly guided. (Ch.2: V.156-158)
For those readers who may be in some sort of difficulty or maybe going through some suffering right now. What would Your message be to them?
Surely there is ease after hardship. (Ch.94: V.6)
There are so many religions in this world we live in today. How do we know which is the right religion?
Surely, the true religion with Allah is Islam (complete submission). (Ch.3: V.20)
Alright, I understand; complete submission. Then what would be Your first command?
O ye men, worship your Lord Who created you and those who were before you, that you may become righteous. (Ch.2: V.22)
Is there an end to all of this? How will this world end?
All that is on it (earth) will pass away.
And there will remain [only] the Person of thy Lord, Master of Glory and Honour. (Ch.55: V.27-28)
What is Your final message to our readers?
[He] created death and life that He might try you – which of you is best in deeds. (Ch.67: V.3)
