Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya UK hosted a “Voices for Peace” event at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh on 24 September 2024, advocating for justice and a lasting ceasefire to promote peace in the Middle East. More than 75 guests, including members of the Scottish Parliament and councillors, attended the event.
The formal programme started with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a video clip about the worldwide “Voices for Peace” campaign. Sadr Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya UK, Abdul Quddus Arif Sahib, read out an excerpt of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa where he highlighted the utmost need for united efforts to make the world a better and far more harmonious place.
This initiative was launched in November 2023, hosting several events across the UK, beginning with the House of Commons on 15 November 2023. Husam Zomlot, the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, and Ed Davey, the Leader of the Liberal Democrats, attended the event. In recent months, such events were held at the Senedd and the Northern Ireland Parliament.
Ibrahim Ikhlaf Sahib, Secretary Tabligh of Jamaat UK, said that Islam teaches that peace is the outcome of justice, hence, we must choose for our neighbours what we like for ourselves.
A video clip of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa was shown to all, where he highlighted the importance of prevailing peace and how to avoid another world war.
